O bag is an Italian brand founded in 2009, known for creating innovative and modular fashion accessories. The company gained international popularity thanks to the creation of the ‘O clock’, which debuted at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2010, and in 2012 thanks to the huge success of the ‘O bag’.
The company’s philosophy is based on three fundamental principles: ONE, ORIGINAL, OWN, which reflect the company’s commitment to the personalisation and originality of its products. Between 2014 and 2019, O bag experienced rapid expansion, with over 250 points of sale in more than 30 countries and wholesale distribution in over 300 multi-brand stores.
At a time of strong commercial momentum, when the products distributed were highly desirable and appealing, the decision was made to bring together the company’s sales team and network of agents to create greater harmony and shared objectives.
The main objective was to develop skills such as collaboration, effective communication and synchronisation in the participants, which are fundamental for success both on the water and in the company.
The day was divided into two parts: in the morning, with the support of Rossano Galtarossa, multiple Olympic medallist and professional coach, the topics of group dynamics, goal orientation and teamwork were addressed. Subsequently, the professional symbolism between a rowing team and a sales team was explored, as they share fundamental dynamics.
In rowing, success depends on perfect coordination between the rowers, led by a coxswain who provides rhythm and strategy; similarly, in a sales team, each member contributes their own role, following a shared strategy to maximise results.
In the afternoon, after some practice in the pool to understand the movements and balance, we put the participants in five boats, each with four rowers, and took them out on the river to adapt to the group, find the right harmony and stimulate teamwork.
At the end of the day, we held a race between the five boats to give all participants the thrill of competition and the satisfaction of seeing the group’s efforts come together.
People were deeply moved by the morning session, especially by hearing first-hand accounts of the excitement and difficulty of winning four Olympic medals in four different editions. It stimulated discussion and motivation to achieve a common, shared goal.
The afternoon was the culmination of the efforts of a young group highly focused on sales.
